Abhishek Bachchan, currently receiving accolades for his latest release, 'Kaalidhar Laapata', which premiered on July 4th, has revealed the reasons behind his reduced social media presence. The actor, who recently celebrated 25 years in Hindi cinema, shared his perspective in an exclusive interview with ETimes.
Bachchan stated that he now primarily uses social media for professional updates regarding his film projects. When questioned about his reserved nature, he explained, "Publicly, yes. I don't express much off-screen. I express on screen... I’m interested in what they’re doing on screen. Don't shatter that illusion for me."
Addressing his decreased social media activity, Bachchan said, "Partially yes, and also I feel currently, sadly... I just feel a lot of social media is just about baiting. It's not a place where you can have a healthy discussion. When it first started you could have a healthy debate or discourse with somebody. Now it's not that. I use it more professionally now." He emphasized the shift from constructive dialogue to provocative engagement on these platforms.
Currently, Abhishek Bachchan is filming 'King', a project confirmed by his father, Amitabh Bachchan, on social media upon its commencement. The film features Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and reportedly, Deepika Padukone.
