Shilpa Shetty is one of Bollywood's fittest stars, and at 50, she continues to set major wellness goals. Known for her ageless charm and enviable figure, the actor proves that fitness is not about strict diets or punishing routines. Instead, she keeps it simple with mindful eating, wholesome food, and everyday rituals.
Let us have a look at her approach, that shows staying fit can be easy, enjoyable, and sustainable.
How Shilpa Shetty starts her mornings
Shilpa’s mornings begin with refreshing practices that wake up her body and mind. In a 2018 interview with NDTV, the 'Baazigar' actress said, “I start my day with a glass and a half of lukewarm water. Then, I have four drops of Noni juice that acts as an energy booster. Finally, I gargle my mouth with a tablespoon of coconut oil. It is an Ayurvedic practice of oil pulling where you swish the oil around your mouth for five and half minutes...”
These small rituals are simple but set the tone for a healthy day ahead.
What Shilpa Shetty eats for breakfast
For Shilpa, breakfast is a must. The 'Dhadkan' actress explained, “I don’t skip breakfast because I don’t have time. If you don’t break your fast you are not doing good to your brain and body.
I like to keep it simple – and quick. I’m not someone who eats too much bread and so, I get my dose of fibre from fresh fruits. Throw in some muesli with a few slices of apples, mangoes and almond milk – it’s my favourite breakfast bowl. I also love eggs for breakfast, they make a complete meal.”
Why Shilpa Shetty includes ghee daily
Shilpa has often spoken about not being afraid of fats, so long as they are the right ones. The actor mentioned that many people struggle with maintaining their weight, but adding the right kind of fats could make a big difference. She explained that switching to coconut milk and other energy-producing foods helps, as they are not stored in the body as fats. According to her, coconut milk is wholesome and also suitable for those who are lactose-intolerant.
She said, “Ghee is a staple with my lunch. Even high-carb fruits like bananas are really good for you. They are so easily available, but most people stay away from them, fearing they’ll make them fat... add a bit of brown rice to your diet. If you can switch to these foods, you will realise that the elasticity in your skin is much better. You have to add foods in your diet that keep you full and at the same time maintain your weight and give you a natural glow.”
How Shilpa Shetty keeps meals wholesome
Shilpa added that she “eats all the time” but her food is “wholesome and healthy”. The actor said she is “not someone who advocates dieting”, and instead focuses on eating nutritious meals. In the evenings, she sometimes opts for a light broth or clear soup. Other times, she snacks on eggs or dry fruits. What she avoids is loading up on heavy carbs at night.
Why Shilpa Shetty eats dinner early
Shilpa believes that timing is just as important as what is on the plate. The 'Rishtey' actress shared, “Even if I have a social gathering to attend, I eat my dinner before 7.30 pm.” This habit helps her stay on track while still enjoying her evenings out.
How Shilpa Shetty balances her carbs
For those looking to manage weight, Shilpa also has a practical suggestion. She advises alternating between low-carb and no-carb days. According to her, this balance helps with weight loss without compromising on nourishment.
