Popular Punjabi actor Jaswinder Bhalla passed away at the age of 65 in a Mohali hospital on Friday morning after a short illness. He was admitted a few days prior. Bhalla was a celebrated comedian and character actor, widely recognized for his performances in hit Punjabi films like 'Carry on Jatta' and 'Jatt & Juliet 2'.

Punjabi entertainment world lost a star today, as one of Pollywood's most talented and beloved actor-comedian, Jaswinder Bhalla, has passed away. According to PTI, Jaswinder Bhalla breathed his last at a private hospital in Mohali on Friday morning. He passed away at the age of 65 after battling a brief illness, a family friend said.Reportedly, he had been admitted to the hospital a few days ago as his health deteriorated. Further reports state that his last rites will be held on August 23 at noon, at the Balongi cremation ground in Mohali. The news of his demise has left everyone in a state of shock and disbelief. Social media has been flooded with messages of tribute and condolences. Several Punjabi artists have also paid their respects to the late actor via social media posts.

Jaswinder Bhalla was a name that needed no introduction, and he got this stature after years of hard work. With a career that spanned over three decades, he was celebrated for his comedic performances in a diverse array of Punjabi films. His journey with classic comedies such as 'Dulha Bhatti.' Not to forget his iconic work with Jaspal Bhatti in his Hindi comedy, 'Mahaul Theek Hai' (1999).
Throughout his career, he appeared in several major Punjabi blockbusters, including 'Jatt and Juliet,' 'Sardaar Ji,' and 'Carry On Jatta.' His role as Advocate Dhillon in the 'Carry On Jatta' franchise took his fame to another level. He distinguished himself by using various catchphrases for his characters, which helped make even minor roles unforgettable for audiences.He was last seen on screen in the 2024 release 'Shinda Shinda No Papa,' alongside Gippy Grewal, his son Shinda Grewal, and actress Hina Khan.

Jaswinder Bhalla is survived by his wife, Parmdeep Kaur, and son, Pukhraj Bhalla. Following in his father's footsteps, Pukhraj is also an actor. He first appeared in music videos in the 2000s and then ventured into movies.
