Lil Nas X hospitalised on suspected overdose; later jailed and charged with battery and misdemeanour

Lil Nas X was arrested in Los Angeles after allegedly charging at officers responding to a report of a naked man on Ventura Boulevard. Police suspected a drug overdose and took him to a hospital before booking him on suspicion of misdemeanour obstructing an officer.

Rapper Lil Nas X was arrested and briefly taken to a hospital for a suspected overdose after Los Angeles police say he charged at officers responding to a report of a naked man walking on a busy boulevard. Lil Nas X, whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, was reportedly seen walking around the streets of LA in a white underwear and boots at around 4am on early Thursday morning. Police were called to the scene after residents in the area reported seeing a semi-nude man in the street.
"Officers found him walking on the normally very busy Ventura Boulevard in the Studio City neighbourhood shortly before 6 am," Los Angeles police spokesman Officer Charles Miller said.After charging at arriving police, he was reportedly handcuffed and taken into custody. However, as the officers suspected a drug overdose, they took him to a hospital first. “Upon arrival the suspect charged at officers and was taken into custody. He was transported to a local hospital for a possible overdose and placed under arrest for battery on a police officer,” officer Miller told CNN.People reports that he was discharged from the hospital and then put through the booking process.
“The booking report indicates that he was charged with a misdemeanour and booked at 11:22 a.m,” the outlet said. He was being held at Valley Jail in Van Nuys, near where the police found him.Lil Nas X made headlines early this year when he shared a vdeo of himself unable to move one side of his face. At the time, the siner claimed that he has lost control of his face.
The 26-year-old rapper and singer from Atlanta is best known for his huge hit from 2018, "Old Town Road," which merged country and hip-hop. It spent a record 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Known for his genre-bending, innovating sounds and style, his first full studio album, 2021's "Montero," went to No. 2 on the Billboard album chart and was nominated for a Grammy for album of the year.
