Dhurandhar movie plot

Speculation has long surrounded the project, with many believing the spy thriller draws inspiration from real-life national security operations—possibly linked to covert missions of India’s National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval. However, the filmmakers have not confirmed these connections.

Dhurandhar first look

The first look of 'Dhurandhar' was unveiled on leading man, Ranveer's 40th birthday, July 6, 2025, giving audiences a glimpse of its gritty, stylish tone and espionage-driven narrative. At its core, the film traces the journey of a covert agent navigating decades of espionage and patriotism as he balances high-octane thrills with personal stakes.

Controversy over age gap

One scene in the teaser, showing a romantic pairing between the 40-year-old Ranveer and 20-year-old Sara, triggered widespread backlash.
Social media erupted over the 20-year age difference, with comments ranging from concerns about appropriateness to calls for narrative context before judgment. Criticism included remarks like "It's giving dad-daughter vibes" and other expressions of discomfort.

Box office clash

Dhurandhar is set to release alongside two other big films on the same day. Shahid Kapoor’s untitled Vishal Bhardwaj project and Prabhas’s The Raja Saab will also hit screens on December 5. Interestingly, Sanjay Dutt, who appears in both 'Dhurandhar' and 'The Raja Saab', has said he hopes the films avoid direct competition and that each finds its own success at the box office.
