Sanjay Dutt, son of legendary actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt, has captured hearts with his powerful screen presence and charisma. But not many know of a sweet childhood story—when little Sanju once declared he wanted to marry iconic actress Saira Banu.

Sanju’s childhood crush

On Sanjay Dutt’s birthday last year, Saira Banu shared a nostalgic picture of him with her late husband, Dilip Kumar. In the caption, she opened up about ‘Baba’s’ long-standing crush on her, writing:“Sanjay Dutt has always been like a family to me. My entire family, starting from Ammaji to Aapaji to Sahib and to me, has watched him grow from a tiny toddler into the remarkable person he is today.”The Padosan actress went on to recall the adorable childhood moment: “I still remember when Nargis Aapa would come to our house for functions, and he would accompany her—this cute, good-looking kid. Nargis Ji would then shake his (Sanjay Dutt) hands and say, ‘Chalo, Saira Ji ko bolo tum kya bolte ho mujhe?’ And then Sanju would look at me and say, ‘Main Shaila Banu se shaadi karunga’ in a cute little voice. Hahahah, so adorable!”
