Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 14-year-old cricketer, was acquired by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.10 crore during the IPL 2025 mega auction. He participated in seven matches during the world's most lucrative franchise cricket league in 2025.The left-handed batsman from Bihar accumulated 252 runs, including one century and one fifty. His remarkable batting strike rate of 206.55 set a new record for the fastest century by an Indian batsman in IPL history.

Rayudu believes the young talent could soon represent India at the international level."His bat speed is extraordinary. Jo uska whip aata hai… I hope nobody changes that. He should get better. Someone like Lara… maybe go and talk to him. He also had a similar type of bat lift. So he can learn about how to control the bat speed when you are defending and when you are playing with a soft hand. So if he learns that, then he will be an extraordinary talent," he said in an podcast with Shubhankar Mishra.
