Diamond League Final: Neeraj Chopra's event preview, time and live telecast in India

NEW DELHI: India’s javelin ace Neeraj Chopra is set to return to Zurich’s iconic Letzigrund Stadium — the venue where he lifted his first and only Diamond League trophy three years ago — to compete in the men’s javelin event at the Diamond League Final 2025, aiming to reclaim the title.The two-day Final begins on Wednesday, with Chopra’s event scheduled for Thursday. Day one will feature five field events at a special street competition on Zurich’s Sechselautenplatz, in front of the city’s historic opera house. The remaining 27 Diamond League champions will be decided on Thursday evening at Letzigrund Stadium.This season, the 27-year-old Olympic champion has taken part in two Diamond League meets, finishing second in Doha with a national record throw of 90.23m and later winning the Paris leg with 88.16m. Having already secured qualification for the Final, he skipped the Silesia and Brussels legs.The men’s javelin in Zurich promises a high-quality contest with a seven-man line-up featuring six of the world’s top-10 throwers. Grenada’s Anderson Peters, the reigning champion who edged out Neeraj by a single centimetre in Brussels last year, will defend his crown.World leader Julian Weber of Germany, who beat Chopra in Doha, 2012 Olympic gold medallist Keshorn Walcott, and former world champion Julius Yego are also among the contenders.When will the men’s javelin event start?The men’s javelin final at the Diamond League 2025 will begin at 11:15 PM IST on Thursday, August 28.Where to watch?The event will be streamed live on the Diamond League YouTube and Facebook pages.
